After a rigorous review, the Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards Committee announced on August 9th a list of 85 projects that won the 2018 China Iron and Steel Industry Association and the China Metals Society Metallurgical Science and Technology Award.

Among them: Baosteel Co., Ltd. won the special award for “Shenzhen Steel Plate Stabilized Manufacturing Technology and Application Demonstration”, and “Technology Integration and Innovation of Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Strip Continuous Production Line”, Taigang and Steel Research Institute, Northeastern University, "High-quality duplex stainless steel series of key preparation technology development and application", Northeastern University, Baosteel Special Steel, Wuyang Iron and Steel, Daye Special Steel, Xingcheng Special Steel and other units of "high-quality special steel Development and application of key technologies for green and efficient electroslag remelting", Wujin Stainless, Taiyuan Heavy Industry, and MCC Jingcheng's “Development and Application of Large-diameter High-performance Stainless Steel Seamless Tube Cold Rolling Production Technology and Complete Equipment” 15 projects won the first prize; 24 projects including the Research Institute of Iron and Steel Research, Northeast Special Steel and Great Wall Special Steel for the development and engineering application of low-expansion superalloy GH907 alloy for advanced engines won the second prize; Beijing University of Science and Technology, Yangjiang Forty-eight projects such as the “Key Technology of Carbide Control in Martensitic Stainless Steel for High-Quality Knives and Scissors” won the third prize.
